What's Happening In The Life Of Zion...Zion's Fabulous Roast Beef Dinner

Come to Zion Church on Saturday, October 9th. That is the date that you will be able to sink your chops into the best cooking this side of the Mississippi! Our melt in your mouth roast beef plus mashed spuds, veggies, salad, dessert and beverage costs only $ 9.00 for adults and $ 4.50 for children under the age of 12! Profits from the all you can eat feast are used to sponsor the 2010 Christmas Cantata. Tickets are available from any Chancel Choir member (after September 8th) and in the Church Office M-F from 8:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M.

When you spot your first gaggle of geese flying south, your thoughts should immediately turn to RUMMAGE SALE!! Start cleaning out your stuff and bring it to the Church anytime after Labor Day week-end (M-F) from 8:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M. Donations of small appliances that still work, clean, non-tattered duds and other household items are appreciated. Please, no Christmas Trees or children's car seats. Rummage Sale will be held on Monday October 4th and Tuesday, October 5th.

Rally Day Round-Up on September 12th!!

Giddy-up pardners and gather round on Sunday, September 12th. Come to Church dressed in your best western gear and come ready to celebrate as we begin a new Church year at Zion. Sunday School resumes at 9:00 A.M. with some surprises. Worship Services will be held at 8:15 A.M. and 10:15 A.M. Come join the excitement as we round up all of the strays and get going for the new year. Don't forget your lawn chair for setting around the good old chuck wagon following the Worship Service. Yee haa......................

Summer Lunch Program Ended August 20th

The last meal of the Summer Lunch Program held at Zion United Church of Christ, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Lehighton Area High School Red Cross Club was served on Friday, August 20, 2010.

The program began on June 21st. Since that very first meal, we have served over 1,200 children a nutritious, free lunch. Zion had a super, super group of volunteers who spent dozens of hours of their time making this Ministry a huge success.

The Church plans to continue this program starting in June of 2011.

Angel Food Ministries

September ordering dates for food from Angel Food Ministries will be on Wednesday, September 8th from 6:00 P.M.-7:30 P.M. and on Saturday, September 11th from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 Noon. Orders will be distributed on Friday, September 17th in the Church's Dining Room from 6:30 P.M.-7:30 P.M.

Community Meal & Feed-A-Neighbor Food Bank

We respectfully invite you to come to the Church for a Free Community Dinner on Thursday, September 30, 2010. The meal will be served in our Dining Room from 5:30 P.M.-7:00 P.M. AND then visit our Food Pantry in order to receive generous quantities of food such as peanut butter, jelly, tuna, spaghetti, soups and more which you can take home with you. Our Feed-A-Neighbor Food Pantry will be open from 6:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
