Active Committees and Ministries
The Consistory
is the governing board of the congregation. This body oversees and
coordinates the ministry and mission of the church.
Spiritual
Council is the Elders of
the church. The Elders are ordained for the purpose of caring for the
spiritual care of the congregation.
Mission
Outreach is responsible
for keeping our purpose before us of feeding the hungry, welcoming
strangers, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned (paraphrase
Matthew 25:35
Personnel
deals with employee
issues, interviews and recommends candidates for positions and recommends
salary and wage packages.
Finance
encourages good stewardship of our resources.
Board of
Christian Education (BOCE)
administers the Christian Education ministry for children and adults
including weekday educational opportunities, Summer Vacation Bible School
and the youth ministry.
Property
is responsible for maintaining the facility and grounds
Music Ministry
enhances the worship experience with choral and instrumental music.
Currently our music ministry includes, The Chancel Choir, Junior Choir (Choraliers),
Senior Bell Choir, Junior Bell Choir, Flute Choir, Junior and Senior Wind
Ensembles, Pair of Couples woodwind
quartet and Iron Faith Praise Band.
Altar Guild
enhances the worship experience by preparing the communion elements, caring
for the chancel paraments, creating visual reinforcement of the message,
providing seasonal decoration and other creative activities.
Zion Opera
Workshop performs a
musical production annually in March. Participants in the productions are
members of Zion and many other churches in the area.
Visitation
Ministry is a consecrated
group of dedicated lay ministers who visit the homebound and bring them
communion every month.
Youth Ministry
gathers for spiritual, social and service activities.
Welcome Team
greets guests,
serves as a hospitality team, are dedicated to welcome guest and invite
folks to become members of this body of Christ.
