Minutes From Our Last Meeting
August 15, 2010
The Board of Christian Education met on August 15,
2010 with the following members in attendance: Jane Heckman, Pastor Heckman,
LouAnn Williams, Renee Schoch, Jen Lopata, Sue Cordes, and Jodie Hourt
A unanimous motion was made to accept the minutes.
Correspondence
There was none.
New Business
The financial report and annual event calendar were
presented and discussed.
Confirmation will be moving back to the "orange room".
The calendar was discussed. Parents and confirmands will meet briefly on Rally
Day following the round up in the Sanctuary. They are also looking to arrange a
Feed-a-Neighbor date.
Pre School is looking for extra teachers to help fill
in. See Jane if interested.
Future Liturgical Dance thoughts and ideas were
discussed.
LouAnn made a motion and Renee seconded it to make a
donation to the Zion Scholarship fund in memory of Dylan Krum. It was approved.
A hiking/biking event at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center
will be planned as a fundraiser to be designated at a future date in memory of
Dylan Krum. The date will be set for sometime in the spring.
Round-Up (rally day) is set for September 12th.
Again, the theme is western, so dust off your boots and polish your spurs.
Registration will take place. A program is planned and food will also be served
after the church service.
Renaming of the stations for the upcoming year was
discussed.
August 29th is planned for Sunday School
set-up and workshop training. It will begin at 9:00.
Changes in the music portion of Sunday School workshop
were discussed.
Invitations will be sent out to the children for Rally
Day.
Development plans and prints were presented and
reviewed.
The next meeting is scheduled for August 29th, 2010 at
9:00.
A motion was made by LouAnn to adjourn and seconded by
Jen.
